A retreat experience like nothing else
High in the lush mountains of North Queensland lies a sanctuary where time slows, the air softens, and you can finally hear yourself breathe again. This is your invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and rediscover what truly matters: stillness and clarity.
In 3-9 October, join Allison, founder of Live and Breathe Yoga, for a rejuvenating retreat designed to help you feel alive and fully restored. Set within the breathtaking Mt Jukes Eco Retreat near Mackay, this experience blends the transformative depth of Ashtanga yoga, Restorative yoga with the grounding calm of nature.
It’s not about escaping your life; it’s about returning to it, renewed.
A place that brings you back to yourself...
Hidden among the green folds of Mt Jukes, surrounded by ancient trees and sweeping mountain views, this retreat offers more than just a few days away.
It’s an intentional pause, a chance to reconnect with your practice, your breath, and yourself.
Mornings begin with mist rolling through the valleys as the shala fills with soft light. Evenings end with candlelit meals, laughter, and stillness beneath a canopy of stars.
Guided by Allison, senior yoga teacher known for her warmth, experience, humour, and grounded wisdom, you’ll be held in a space that encourages curiosity, kindness, and transformation on and off the mat.
I loved the time to pause life a little. I came alone but left with new friends and a deeper love for my practice. I already can't wait for the next one!

The Rhythm of Your Days
Your days at Mt Jukes flow with ease, structured enough to guide you but spacious enough to breathe.
Morning Practice
Awaken with the sun for guided Ashtanga yoga, pranayama, and meditation in the open-air shala. The mountain breeze and birdsong will become part of your morning rhythm as you connect to yourself and your inner strength.
Afternoon Renewal
After a nourishing lunch, the afternoons invite rest or exploration. Enjoy restorative workshops, journalling by the creek, gentle hikes, or simply relaxing in stillness beneath the trees. Have a nap or read a book or do nothing at all.
Evening Connection
Gather for wholesome meals prepared with love, then unwind with meditation, mantra, or quiet conversation under the stars. Cosy up in your glamping tent or comfy cabin for a restful sleep to end the perfect day.
No rushing. No pressure. Just space to move, to breathe, and to be.
Nourishment from inside and out...
Food is an essential part of the retreat experience. Each meal is freshly prepared with local ingredients and an abundance of care: colourful, nourishing, and deeply satisfying.
Expect vibrant vegetarian dishes, fresh salads, herbal teas, and wholesome treats that keep your energy grounded and your heart full.
Meals are enjoyed together in a shared dining space overlooking the mountains, a time for connection, laughter, and gratitude.
I look forward to the retreat each year. It's a time for me to immerse myself in my practice and challenge myself in a safe space. I always love learning something new about my relationship with my yoga practice. It’s a time and opportunity to quietly reflect or simply some me time. One also has the opportunity to connect with and grow friendships with fellow yogis.

I have gained self-awareness, self-love and forgiveness, yoga skills and a new appreciation for the practice, and so much positive energy and support from Allison and the other participants. I was intensely mentally and emotionally scattered when I first arrived. What Allison and the community created on this retreat has reset my focus and my energy. I feel reconnected to myself, my power and my potential.

About Allison,
our retreat leader
I’ve been running retreats for over 11 years (teaching for 21 years), and they hold a special place in my heart. There’s something truly magical about stepping away from the noise of everyday life and immersing yourself in a space dedicated to growth, connection, and inner peace. I love creating retreats because I get to witness powerful transformations—guests arriving feeling stressed or disconnected and leaving grounded, revitalised, and inspired. Sharing practices like Ashtanga, pranayama, and deep relaxation in beautiful, tranquil settings is an absolute privilege. Connecting people is what I especially love doing and would love for you to join me on this special experience.
The retreat provided an opportunity to reset. Waking with the sun, moving in silence while listening to the ocean breath offered time to reflect, to connect and share in the practice of yoga. A supportive nurturing week led by Allison providing wisdom and inspiration. Sharing meals with others during the retreat is a wonderful way to continue new connections and enjoy delicious food while taking in the tropical restorative vibes.
