Daily yoga practice, delicious vegetarian food and lots of sleep is just what we prescribe as the foundation to health. We encourage a digital free zone and allow space for you to slow down, switch off and enjoy time away from distractions to find clarity and peace.

Our caterers Wachu Eat’n are local to Mission Beach and passionate about locally grown fresh foods and excellent coffee to satisfy our retreat guests.

They love catering for yoga retreats and offer high quality, flavoursome food, where they create their own style to take you on a journey of delicious-ness! 

All products such as relishes, salsas, jams and marinades are made using locally sourced ingredients to entice everyone’s taste buds and are made by vegetarian chef Vanice – THE BAKED GODDESS.  Get ready to be nourished from the inside out.

Heaven on earth.

Set in unspoiled rainforest and only metres to Misson Beach’s iconic golden stretch of coastline, Eco Village is exclusively located where wet tropics rainforest meets Great Barrier Reef. Offering self-contained Villas and Spa suites, Eco Village was built in the mid 90’s and has been lovingly looked after by the caretakers of the property. It is a truly wonderful place with highly significant cultural history and has an abundance of natural wildlife, some of which not found anywhere else on earth.

Retreat activities

Arrive Saturday anytime from 2pm for Welcoming ceremony at 5pm. Then we will share our first delicious dinner together around 6:30pm.

The central practice at this Live and Breathe Yoga retreat is the Ashtanga yoga practice, a dynamic yet deeply healing practice that will strengthen the body and awaken the spirit. Each morning session begins with meditation, pranayama breathwork and finishes with a guided Ashtanga yoga practice.

A TYPICAL DAY ON RETREAT LOOKS LIKE:
  • Sunrise yoga practice with pranayama, meditation, postures and chanting
  • Breakfast
  • Free time to walk on the beach, head into Mission Beach town, read, get a massage or chill by the pool
  • Lunch
  • Afternoon workshop session/Restorative yoga practice
  • Dinner
  • Early to bed

Frequently asked questions

Our retreat leader and yoga therapist Allison has been teaching ashtanga yoga for 18 years. The morning sessions will be ashtanga yoga-based sessions but will be tailored to the retreat participants level and support needed. Each morning we will start will meditation, then pranayama and then physical asana (postures). Any evening yoga sessions will be restorative yoga.

The workshops in the afternoon will be tailored to the participants requests and needs at the time. They will be either postures focused (for example backbends, sun salutations, inversions) or they will be on other aspects of practice like chanting, yoga philosophy, pranayama or meditation. They are optional however most participants are super keen for these sessions. 

Yes of course. As Allison has been teaching for a long time her specialty is making anything complicated in the ashtanga yoga practice simple and achievable for any level.

Just let us know in your registration form so that Allison can ask any further questions and ensure classes can be designed to suit you.

It is recommended that you attend some classes with Allison in the lead up to the retreat either in the studio or online.

Yes, we can cater to all dietary requirements. Be sure to let us know what you need in your registration form.

We will have a meet and greet on Saturday 6th Oct at around 5pm so arrive anytime between 2pm and 5pm. Check out time is 10am so we will have one last early morning session on the last day and then finish the retreat with breakfast.

You can drive from Townsville or Cairns in approximately 3 hours. If you would like to car pool with someone let us know in your registration form and we will try to assist. There is a bus service to Mission Beach.
